a
scam message is spreading on Facebook, asking members to
verify their account. recently a friend of mine received a request message from one of his friend on FB, asking him to verify his account before
June 12 2012. he showed it to me to get my opinion.i know that some of us would be tempted to click.doing that is at your own risk.
due to curiosity i went online to find out if such alert was true or false.to my surprise the
Facebook verify account is a spam message that has been spreading.so if you have received such message from a friend, then you should avoid clicking on any of the button else you will have your self to be blamed.facebook will always send notification to their members in respect of any
verification of members fb account
the body of the message goes like this.

WARNING: announcement from Facebook verification team.all profile must be verified before
12th June 2012 to avoid scams and scams under
SOPA ACT.the unverified account will be terminated.
when you scroll down, you will see a button asking you to click either the first step or second step.clicking it will take you to a page to grant the application access to your information.

i guess you have read the message, if yes, you will notice that there is a misspelled word "
scams and scams". the message is even an application that requires your authorization to gain access to your information.so when you grant access to the app, then the developer of the app can have access to your information and also spam your Facebook friends.
the spam will then keep on spreading because the more the catch, the more it will spread.i guess you know what that means.FB will not ask you to verify your account by using an application when they have all the necessary tools to do that.
when they introduced timeline, every members heard about it without them sending request to any one.so please be at alert.
i believe the spammers has already taking over the account that sent the message and trust me, more members will fall victim of this spam.so please share with your friends on Facebook to prevent them from dashing out their
FB account to spammers.be warned.that's all.

ReplyDelete@anonymous5, just login to tour fb account,you will see a small arrow close to the home at the upper left hand corner of the page, click it and choose settings.you will see app,click on it and remove the app from the list.
