step1:visit accounts.google.com and loging with gmail.
step2:you will see list of option,click two step verification. it will tell you to insert your password again,do it.
step3:from the next page, click on start up.
step4:from the next page, you will be ask to choose your country, insert your phone number in the other box,then choose whether they should send a confirmation code through sms message or through voice message,then click send code.
step5:you will receive the code to verify if you are the owner of the phone number.once you've received it,insert it in where they says enter code and click verify.
step6:after verifying it,click on next button,then activate the 2step verification by clicking to turn it ON.that's all.any time you want to logging, they will send a text message to your phone number containing a pin you must insert to fully grant privilege to your gmail account.NOTE: you must provide the pin sent to your mobile phone to gain access,this means you must be with your mobile phone each time you want to use your Google account.ENJOY.

How long does it takes for them to send verification code.i have just tried it.
