According to jamb official,they said that the just concluded 2012/2013 utme exam result recorded a high rate of exam malpractices from various examination centers.they also note the number of people that has the highest score on
2012 jamb utme result, failure rate and withheld results respectively in various states.according to the utme result statistics, Of the 1,503,931 candidates who sat for the
2012 UTME exam, only
three scored 300 and above compared to 2,892 that scored above 300 in the 2011 exam. 72,243 person's scored 250 and above while 336,330 scored below 170
The Registrar,
Joint Admissions and Matriculation's Board (JAMB),
Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, disclosed that 27,266 candidates in 52 of the 3,001 centers used for the examination had their results
withheld by JAMB on account of malpractice.
With barely five per cent of 1,503,931 students scoring above 250, stakeholders have come up with various reasons why the low performance of students in general exams.

2012 UTME result, Imo had the highest number of applicants with 123,865 candidates; Delta came second with 88,876 candidates while Anambra placed third with 84,204 candidates and FCT recorded the lowest number with 3,380 candidates.the University of Lagos (UNILAG) recorded the highest applicants with 83,865 candidates; Nnamdi Azikiwe University came second with 82,148 candidates and the University of Benin came third with 80,048 candidates.

Prof. Egwari said the mindset of the Nigerian youth has been diverted to sports and entertainment, especially with the advent of social networking sites.he quoted that “Go round the campuses and see what students are actually doing with their laptops, BlackBerry phones, i-Pad etc. It is nothing related to academics and it’s eroding our values. There may be other factors but these are the underlying factors,”.
to be sincere,this year result is nothing compare to other past exams.could it be that the security was very tight to had reduced the rate of malpractices or the people did not really read to pass their exam.that's all.
