So many people would say, it does not matter the kind of
android phone you make use of as long it can perform the same thing.well, to some extent it does matters in terms of the features needed for personal reasons.i am an htc fan and for those who is planning to buy any
htc android phone, i believe this post would be of help to you because i will list some things you need to know or check through on any
htc android phone before buying it else you may have yourself to be blamed
for those who just want to use their android phone for the regular stuffs like facebook, news, twitter, checking emails etc, then this post may not be for you but if you are the type that want to explore stuffs on the phone, then you can read further.if you are not making use of htc android phone, you can still read as they say no knowledge is a waste.so lets get to the real deal.
before buying any htc android phone, here is a list of things you should know or watch out for.
(1) check the spec of the phone online.so many of us makes this mistake.if you wish to buy any htc android phone, you should check the specs of the phone online to know it's features.that way you get to have an idea of what you are buying and also get to see users reviews about the pros and cons of the phone.most at times, you may go to the market to buy a phone but when you get there, you may find another one that may captured your attention and immediately buy and regret after making use of it.so even if it means checking the specs of the phone in front of the seller, you should do that because your hard earned money is involved.
(2) checking if the htc android phone is
S-ON or S-OFF.this goes for those who don't want to go through the long process of rooting their phone and installing custom recovery like
clockwork,
twrp,
wildchild, EXT4 etc.if your htc phone is
S-off, it will make it easy for you to root by unlocking the bootloader and installing recovery and root it without much stress.you can also easily flash new ROMs, but if S-ON, you will have to do an S-OFF which involve the
wire trick visionary etc.the S stands for security,i.e (security-ON or security-OFF).so to know if it's S-ON or S-OFF, just press the volum down button and power button at the same time for some seconds.it will take you to bootloader.there you will see the S-ON or S-OFF details at the top and also locked bootloader status.
(3) turn on the phone and check the version of android OS it is running.most at times you may check online for the phone spec and notice that the phone is running either froyo 2.2.1 or ginger bread 2.3 but when you check it, it must have been upgraded to either official ics 4.0 or jellybean 4.1.my advice is not to buy anything below 2.3 ginger bread.you should go for phone from 2.3 upword, 4.0 preferable because you get to use some apps that does not support OS version lower than 4.0.although you can upgrade after rooting
(4) also check the memory size of the phone.this is because some htc phone that has low internal memory will require you to insert memory card to get to use stuffs that has to do with storage like camera, video recording, download, music etc.so just imaging if you have no memory card or the memory slot is disturbing and or got damaged which is the worse, that means you can't use anything that has to do with storage.it happened to me and it rendered the phone useless.so i would advice going for htc phone which can allow you make use of the internal memory for any thing that has to do with storage which can also make use of memory card slot too.
(5) also the CPU and ram size should be up to 1.0 upward and 1gb ram size.you know how it is on computer.we need large processor and rams for optimal performance and it should be dual core upward.
(6) battery live.guess we all love to use an android phone that has considerable battery live.you can get more details on this from users review online.
(7) the phone should have both WiFi and hotspot.it's a smart phone so i expect this features to be present for all htc android phone.it should also have 3g enabled.if no 3g, no buying because 2g is not an option.even some nokia java phone has 3G enabled not to talk of a smart phone running android OS.
(8 ) last but not the list, you should root the phone and install a recovery like clock workmod or twrp.
rooting is not the only thing you should do but also, you should install recovery for your own benefit.with recovery installed, you have no problem for soft bricked.with this, you can get into recovery and get it fixed.that's why it is advisable to first flash a recovery and make a
nandroid backup before finally rooting it should in case anything goes bad especially for those who can't use adb and fastboot.i will stop here but if you have any other tips to share, your opinion is welcome.you can use the comment form to share your tips, cheers.that's all.ENJOY
