flashing blackberry phone is not that difficult as far as you have the
latest BB firmware for that phone.you don't realy need sophisticated software just like most software used in flashing
NOIKA phones like
phoenix,
jaf,
cyclone etc.with
blackberry desktop manager installed on your computer, you can use it to flash your blackberry phone provided you have the latest version of the OS flash files.so if you are having problem with your bb or you are a phone repairer, then this post will guide you on
how to flash blackberry phone
like i have said before, you will need to have in place
blackberry firmware/flash file before the flashing can be successful.there is no way you can do it without flash files.you will get to know where to download latest bb flash files as i proceed with this guide,so follow the steps bellow to get it done
how to flash blackberry phone
==> visit this link and download latest blackberry desktop manager.old version would not work with latest bb OS 7, download via
blackberry desktop manager download
==> after installing bb desktop manager, you will have to download latest flash files, visit official OS download portal at
http://bit.ly/gurubest_bbos
you will see different carrier mobile network companies, just click on the network provider you are using e.g verizon, AT&T, tmobile, MTN etc.you can also download from any carrier regardless of the name that is on the blackberry
==> after downloading, install it.then go to this directory
C:/PROGRAM FILE=>COMMON FILES=>RESEARCH IN MOTION=>APPLOADER.
inside the apploader folder, scroll down, you will see a file called
vendor.xml. delete it it permanently.
doing this will enable you to flash the blackberry with a firmware that is different from the carrier, the name that is on the bb phone e.g if you have bb that has verizon on it, you can use a flash file of tmobile to flash it.on a normal ground, you wouldn't have been able to do that because the file is from different carrier (maker).
so deleting the
vendor.xml will enable you flash it without getting error like blackberry OS not found from desktop manager or
apploader.this is because the vendor file contains a component of the carrier which will detect that you want to use it on a different carrier and would not work
==> after deleting the vendor.xml, open apploader. this app is on the folder where you deleted the vendor file
==> switch off your phone and remove the battery
==> connect the phone to the computer, apploader will detect the phone pin. if detected, click next
==> it will search for the firmware you installed.
==> after searching for the software, if found, it will bring out options which you will like to add to the update e.g YouTube, Facebook, twitter, language etc.you can leave it like that if you want and click next, then finish
==>insert the battery back to the phone as the flashing is progressing
==> wait for it to complete.when done, you will see successful message.your blackberry phone will restart and load.
some problems you may encounter
after installing bb os, apploader could not detect the OS. reason may be due as a result of you not deleting the vendor file.so delete it and start over again.
if after deleting the vendor.xml and still could not detect OS, then read this post to resolve it
