How i Fixed YouTube Video No Image Thumbnail on Related Post On Blogger / Blogspot site.many of us must have tried to create a YouTube video niche content site to share YouTube video but are having problem with the video post image thumbnail Showing No Image Thumbnail on related post on blogger/blogspot website.i had the same problem after downloading series of blogger template to test run a video niche site i created but none of them could show image thumbnail extracted from the YouTube video being posted on the site on My related post instead it was showing No Image.i wanted the template to feature related post but with image thumbnail so that when ever some one clicks to read a particular post, it will show related article at the bottom with image from the video instead of taking screenshot of the video and uploading it, it would be time consuming.but i was able to fix the problem as a result of series of error and trial.if you are still having this problem, then this post will guide you on how to fix YouTube video no image thumbnail on related post on blogger/blogspot site

normally when you copy an embedding code from YouTube video and post it on your website running on blogger/ blogspot, it will extract an image thumbnail and features it on your site so that people will see a snippet of the image and it enables them to have a clue on how the video looks like which will draw their attention and attract clicks from them.but will don't just want the clicks to end there, we also want it to continue after they finish watching the video and that is where the related post comes in but the problem is it does not show image thumbnail, instead it shows No Image with a blank white background.so as a result of this, i won't really draw the attention of the readers to click for more views.the cause of this problem lies on the YouTube video embedding code and here is how i fixed mine

like i had said, the problem lies on the embedding code and it was difficult to notice at first.normally when we want to make a video post, we have to copy the embedding code from YouTube which is recommended.

but this time around, you will have to copy the embedding code and add http: to it if you want it to show image thumbnail extracted from the YouTube video.are you confuse, yeah, like i said, the error is a little bit difficult to notice because the problem is just the http: not added to the link of the embedding code. for example, i want to make a video post so i go straight to YouTube and search for a video and then copy the embedding code which is exactly like this

now when you take a look at the embedding code above, you won't notice any error would you?. the answer is No because it is the normal YouTube embed code which is used to make YouTube video appear on ones website site.


but since we want the video image thumbnail to appear on related post on blogger, then something needs to be added to the embed code which will make the image thumbnail to show up on related post.the code to add is


http:


in the code above, http: is not added to it after it is copied from YouTube directly so that makes it not to show image thumbnail


you can see how this little error could affect post structure on related articles.it took me time and series of trial and error to get this done which automatically solved my problem and you too can give it a try too and see if it would work for you.


just add http: at the back of the // on the embed code link from ( src="//www.youtube.com/embed/NNdlOv4h2LE ) , e.g. lets take the above video embed code which is <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/NNdlOv4h2LE" width="640"></iframe>,


now lets add http: which will now be <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NNdlOv4h2LE" width="640"></iframe>




the link portion from the embed code will then look like this ( src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NNdlOv4h2LE ). Marked in red

so automatically the embed code will be <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NNdlOv4h2LE" width="640"></iframe> and the problem will be resolved with just that little http: added to it.this is how i resolved YouTube video post showing No Image thumbnail on related post on blogger.

Note: After you insert the http: , the Video Preview won't show on your blogger compose editor , you will only see the the embed code on the blogger html editor
