before conceiving the idea to create a website be it a forum, blog, whether on WordPress, blogger or other sub domain site, i will always advice you to first of all do a search on the domain name you want to use for the site before creating it.it is very important to stand out from the crowd by doing the right thing.domain name should be the first thing you should get because it will serve as your brand online which no one can steal from you.the problem with using a free sub domain name like in the case of linda ikeji blog which is www.lindaike.blogdpot.com.

the blogspot is a sub domain name but do you know you can buy a custom domain name and add it the blogspot platform which is free.buying a custom domain name like www.yourname.com will not only make you stand out but also can be of a way people will recognize you very fast because you can only have one domain name,no one can take it from you.it gives you privilege to keep it and use it for your self alone on like what happened to linda ikeji blog.after Google deleted her site from their platform, everything dies there.

but if using a custom domain name, even if your site got deleted, you will still maintain the links and ranks because you are the owner of the custom domain which has the link, not the platform where the site is created,isn't that cool,so think twice before creating a website because domain name is something to take note of first before thinking of the kind of platform to use.

linda is wishing she had registered a domain like lindaikeji.com long before it was registered by sharp guys who are using it to take advantage of not only traffic but also demanding huge amount of money from her if she wants to acquire the name,too bad, she never knew this was coming right but.you too can learn from it and protect your identity and brand online because there are lots of sharp guys that are eying your progress.this is why if i come up with an idea to create a website,the first thing i usually do is to search for a custom domain name for the site.

not even hosting or design,the first is the name i want to give to the site because it is going to be the name every one will recognize even if the design is changed or hosting some where else,the name never changes.still ringing a bell on visitors ears.

using some ones content word for word is a copyright infringement which many bloggers fails to take note of.they are using it to their advantage without thinking about the negative impact.fine, no one is an island of knowledge and as such, we can't come up with our own articles regularly, so the need of content idea is required.

this is why you see one article been published every where but with different wordings and thinking.no one will come and hold you responsible for infringing on their right to content which you saw online or else where and published it on your site with different wordings from your own thinking.that is what makes you stand out.

i mean, take for instance, many people have written an article on how to flash blackberry phone before me but i still wrote a post on it on my website after searching the net to learn and practice it.there is no way you can just learn how to flash on your own without reading or watching some one doing it.

i learnt it online and posted what i learnt on my site base on my own understanding, not word for word from the site i leaned it from.you can see, the site won't even noticed i got the knowledge from them because everything was written base on the way i understand it.

this makes you stand out from the crowd because what Mr A wrote on his site, its not every one that can understand his write up, so the need to also check out some one else that is talking about same thing in a more simplified and understanding write up.you will agree with me that you don't need only one text book of same subject to learn from.this is why teachers will recommend different text books for you on the same biology,physics, economics etc because they know you just can't rely on one text book to learn and understand the subject.the internet is also done the same way.

you may not understand what you read from other peoples website due to their write up.but after checking up more sites, you get to finally understand what you were looking for.so if you are copying some ones content, there is need to give credit to such person or better still take permission before using their works because its not every one that would love other people to use their content on their site even if they asked for permission.

it took them hours to write so its kind of bad for some one to just wake up one morning and copy and paste what took them hours or even days to write on their site.so do the right thing and free yourself from copyright infringement because ones you are reported to your web hosting company and the claim is valid,they will take you down.they will suspend your site and Google will also de-index your site from their search engine because they don't joke with some ones intellectual property.

also many people make the mistake to think they are free from copyright infringement if they are not using blogger/blogspot but that is a big fat lie because your site can still be taken down if reported to your web hosting company without delay.so don't think you have right or free from copyright infringement act even if you are using self hosted WordPress or jumla,drupal etc, copyright infringement is recognized by all hosting company so no one is free from it.

if reported and valid, you will be suspended.that is why you see some wordpress self hosted site being suspended after series of report and no action taken by the owner.so stay away from this act or better still give credit by linking back to the source,this is not a big deal since you are using some ones work to entertain your blog readers which in turn is making money for you.

no harm in linking back to the source where you got contents from as a way of giving credit to the owner of the content.

==> Don't ignore any report made by some one concerning their content.

most at times, your web hosting company may get a report from site owners concerning their content being featured on your site without permission.in this case your web host will not just suspend your account, they will inform you of the report and tell you to remove the copied content from your site within a specific date which you have to do else they will suspend your account and your site will be down.this is why its good to be checking your emails regularly so as to get inform that touches on time.

some people may also go a long way to contact you personally to remove their content but due to ego, some guys will ignore the call because they feel too big.in such case, any action taken by the owner of the content may end up putting you in big problem,

so don't ignore any kind of message regarding removal of content on your site or better still ask the person if its ok to link back instead of removing it since its going to cause an error post missing on your site.

==> back up your blogger blog regularly.

some bloggers don't even know they can back up their blogger blog which is a good practice because anything can happen and when you have a backup, you won't have problem restoring your blog should in case the unforeseen happens.

regular back up should be your practice because you won't want to wake up one morning and see a message that your site has been deleted from blogger/blogspot or your web hosting without any back up.that means you will have to start all over again in creating content.
