to pin and make a post sticky on home page means that you want that post to be on the first post line up or be among the post that will appear at the top of every other post you have on your website.this is important especially if you want to promote your ebook, product or advert sponsored post for a particular period of time, could be for weeks, month or even years.this way, any other post you make on your site will be below the pinned or sticky post.no other post will be above it which could drag it down and it would get over shadowed by other post.we don't want that which is why we decided to make it stick.

==> create a new post and publish it or if you already have a published post, then click on the edit button.don't worry, we are not editing any of the words, we just want to push the date forward.
==> after clicking the edit button, it will take you to the blogger editor,just scroll to the right side, you will see

click on it, it will display the date and time the post was published, just only increase the date (year), don't touch the month and time, only the year is required.
if for example the post was published 2015, just increase the year to 2016 or more as you wish and click done, then click update button
the post will automatically be pushed to the top, every other post you have made will be below it.depending on the date you pushed it to,it will stick on your blogger blogspot blog home page until it gets to that date.
you can undue it if you wish by setting it back to the default date.just back date it and set it to the default year it was posted.
to know the default year, just check the URL of the post, you will see the year.this is why i said you shouldn't touch any other thing on the date, just only the year.
when you back date it, it will go back to the formal position it was and disappear from the top.this is the trick i used to pin some of my blog post, you can try it.enjoy
