How To Partition Your Hard Disk Without Using Any Software.many of us would love to partition their computer hard disk space by creating additional space and allocate drive letter to it.whether you want to make use of the partitioned disk space for storing files or installing of another operating system, you will have to allocate the space properly so you won't have problem making use of it for the purpose for which it was created.some computer users partition their computer hard drive wrongly in the sense that instead of using the correct file system format for the purpose for which they intend using the partitioned disk space, they make use of the wrong file system.
For example, if you intend storing files to the space you want to create via partitioning, then you have to use fiat 32 system instead of NTFS and if you intend using the allocated space for installing new operating system to dual boot two operating system on one computer, then NTFS file system should be the assigned path instead.hope you got this.
With this little tips of the ice bug, lets proceed to partitioning hard disk space proper.if you are the type that stores large files on your computer and your hard disk space is much, then you can create additional partition which you can use for storing your files separately instead of keeping it in the Computer C drive.this makes your files easy to access since it has been separated from the C Drive where the operating system is being installed.so lets proceed.

How To Partition Your Computer Hard Disk
click on start button on your computer
scroll to my computer and right click it, an option will show up, scroll down to where you will see manage, click on it
it will take you to manage your device properties
from that window that displays your computer device properties, at the left side, scroll down to where you will see disk management, click on it
it will open the disk management window.there you will see all the drive available on your computer.scroll down, you will see your computer C Drive. The letter C will be displayed on it.this is to enable you know which drive is C drive and which is for the other partition such as for system.so take note of this because our main focus is to partition the hard disk available for C Drive.
So scroll down and right click the C drive that has the letter C on it
it will display an option, from the option, scroll down to where you will see shrink volume.
It will prepare the drive for partitioning but it would take time to load, so you will have to be patient to wait
when it has loaded the shrink window, you will see list of options.
you are only interested in the option that says
Enter The Amount Of Space To Shrink In MB .that is where you will insert the space you want to assign for that partition you want to create.the space should be inserted in megabyte format.\
this means that if you insert 1, it means 1mb, Not 1gb.so if you want to assign a gigabyte space to the new partition, you will insert it in MB format by conversion.will assume that 1000mb gives you 1GB in conversion.so we shall use this format to assign gigabyte to the partition
since 1000mb gives 1gb, then calculated the gigabyte space you want to assign by 1000mb.
So lets say i want to assign 50gb to that new partition i want to create, it will be 50 X 1000 = 50000. Although it will not give you exactly 50GB. It may be around over 40gb due to the conversion we make use of because in actual sense, 1000mb is only used as assumption, not real conversion because the real conversion of mb to gb is more than 1000mb but we just want to use it on round up number, this is why we assume 1000mb to give 1gb
after getting the figure, insert it as your allocated space for that partition.it will be created successfully.at this stage you've only succeeded in creating space for a new partition but the space has not been allocated to a drive letter.without this, it means the space is un-allocated hence it will not be available for you to make use of it for any stuffs you intend do with it.to make it available for your use, then you will have to assign drive letter to it so you can have access to the partitioned disk space.to do this, right click on the new partition you've just created.the new partition is usually after the C drive
just right click the new partition.an option will display, scroll down to where you will see simple volume, click on it.
It will take you to a window where you will see the following
scroll to where you will see letter, you will see a small box, inside the box, select any letter you want to assign to it.will advice you not to assign the following letter such as
E, A, C, D, F.
This letters are mostly automatically assigned to memory card, flash drive, external hard disk etc. So look for other drive to use such as J, H, K, P etc.
After assigning, scroll to where you will see system file, there you will have to select wisely. If you want to use the partitioned space for storing your files, then select Fiat32 but if you want to use it to install additional operating system to enable you dual boot two operating system, then select NTFS. when you are done, click ok button.
It will create the partition for you successfully.at this stage, you've successfully partition your computer hard disk.you can now make use of it for the purpose for which you created it for.hope this helps.cheers.
The result is what you will insert clue on what drive is available
